Born
and educated at Kolkata. Patental home at Vikrampur, Dacca, now
Bangladesh. Retired as District Information and Cultural Office,
Government of West Bengal. Served over 30 years in the Districts
of West Bengal Now Attached to the folk and Tribal Cultural Centre,
Deptt. of Information and Cultural Affairs. Life Member, Indian
Folklore congress Association. Contributed articles to Jugantal
Patrika Amrita, Samhita, Ajjkall, Bangalok, Lokosruti and in little
magazines as well as in an English weekly West Bengal of
the State Government. His published works are: (i) Tattya O Parichaya
Dakshin 24 Parganas (Edited an informative book on the district
published b the Zilla Parishad); (ii) Pagalchander Mela: Fakiri
Gun by Academy of Folklore; (iii) Nachni (in English by Saptarshi);
(iv) Nachni (in Bengali by Sagnik) & (v) Tarjagun (by Folk
and Tribal Cultural Centre). Recited self composed poems from the
all India Radio, Kolkara. Took systematic lesson in Rabindrasangeet
from the eminent artist Shri Dwijen Mukhopadhay. Worked as Resource
person on an educational programme for Doordharsan on the Puppet
Dance under the auspicious of the University Grants Commission.
