The revised land acquisition plan for the proposed Bangabandhu International Airport excludes all residential plots.
The project cell chief Joynal Abedin Talukder said the decision was taken at a meeting at the Munshiganj deputy commissioner’s office on Thursday.
“No residential plots under the project area will be acquired for the airport. The acquisition will be made after meticulously ascertaining land ownership,” the civil aviation joint secretary added.
Deputy commissioner Mohammad Azizul Alam presided over the meeting. Civil Aviation chairman air commodore Mamhud Hossain NDC PSC, director (Air Traffic Service) Azad Zahirul Islam, Munshiganj land acquisition officer Abdul Latif Khan, superintendent of police Shafiqul Islam were present at the meeting.
