The tender for constructing the first phase of the Padma Bridge will be invited soon, an official handout said in Thursday. According to the handout, the government already received pre-qualification (PQ) documents from 11 companies for river management at the Padma Bridge site.
The companies are: Penata-Ocean Construction Company Limited (Japan), PAG Joint Venture (Denmark), China Communication Construction Company Limited (China), Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company Limited (Korea), China Gezhouba Group Company Limited (China), Padma RTC JV Van Oord, Dredging International & Boskalis International (Netherlands), Jan De Nul NV (Denmark), Sinohydro Corporation Limited (China), Changjiang Survey, Planning, Design & Research Co (China), Bangladesh Check Technology Limited and China International Water & Electric Corporation (China) and STX-Samwaham Joint Venture (Korea).
The handout said the consultant of the project would evaluate the PQ applications in one month and would send its recommendations to the World Bank for its consent.
