Arrest warrant was issued against member of Majlish-e-Sura of Jamaat-e-Islami Sayed Abdullah Mohammad Taher in connection with a sedition case on Thursday.
Judicial Magistrate Abul Hasnat issued the warrant order.
Sreenagar upazila unit Awami League general secretary Lutfar Rahman filed the case with Munshiganj court on Aug 11.
According to the prosecution, Taher allegedly threatened to destroy country and the nation while addressing a programme Aug 4 at National Press Club which was also addressed by BNP leader Barrister Maudud Ahmed organized by ‘Youth Forum’ at the national Press Club.
Maudud Ahmed, another accused in the case, was acquitted from the case earlier. Additional Police Super Saiful Islam investigated the case.
