Meritorious students along with some renowned sons of the soil were accorded reception at Lauhajong upazila of the district recently.
The reception ceremony was organised by ‘Agrasar Bikram-pur,’ a famous socio-cultural organisation of Munshi-ganj, on the campus of Lauhajung College.
A total of 157 meritorious students were awarded crests, certificates and bags.
This year the ‘renowned son of the soil’ honour was given to the High Commissioner of India, Sree Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty who is a great son of Lauhajung in Munshiganj.
The organisers also gave two rickshaws to two mothers of martyred freedom fighters, Mafiz and Joynal, so that they could earn a living by renting out those.
They will also be given Taka 1,000 each life-long from the organisation.
